Dr. Ashley

Ashley McTeer was born and raised on the Eastern Shore. She developed an early passion for the love and welfare of animals and has truly wanted to be a veterinarian her whole life. She attended Wilson College in Pennsylvania where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Medical Technology (concentration in Biology) in 2006. She then went on to the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with honors in 2010, receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

Following graduation, Dr. McTeer moved back to her roots and worked for almost six years at a small animal private practice in Delaware. She joined the Healing Hands Animal Hospital team in April of 2016. Dr. McTeer is very passionate about diagnostic services, particularly in the area of ultrasonography. She has taken several extensive courses specific to ultrasound and plans to continue to develop her abilities in this area, including thoracic ultrasonography and echocardiography. Her other special interests include internal medicine, feline, and geriatric medicine. In her spare time, Dr. McTeer enjoys reading, playing guitar and spending time with her family.
